Working Days Calculator
Calculate the number of working days between two dates, or add and subtract working days to find a deadline.
Calculate Working Days
Choose a mode, enter your dates, and adjust your work week or holidays if needed.
This calculator counts working days, normally Monday to Friday, minus any holidays, between two dates. It can also add or subtract working days from a start date to find a deadline. Use it for project schedules, delivery windows, SLAs, notice periods, PTO, and payroll.
How to Calculate Working Days
Pick a mode. To count working days between two dates, enter a start and end date. To find a deadline, switch to add or subtract, enter a start date, and type the number of working days.
If your week isn't a standard Monday to Friday, or you need to skip public holidays, open the work week and holidays panel and adjust the settings before calculating.
What Are Working Days?
Working days, also called business days, are the days a business normally operates. In most countries that means Monday to Friday, with Saturdays and Sundays treated as non-working days.
Public holidays are usually excluded too, though which holidays apply depends on your country and region.
Working Days vs Calendar Days
Calendar days count every day of the week, including weekends. Working days count only the days you actually work.
This is why 10 calendar days and 10 working days land on different dates. Ten working days from a Monday is two full working weeks later, while ten calendar days is a week and a half.
Why Calculate Working Days?
Counting working days gives realistic deadlines. Contracts, shipping estimates, and service agreements are often written in business days, so weekends and holidays shouldn't be part of the count.
Working out the real number of working days helps teams plan delivery, set expectations, and avoid promising dates that fall on a weekend.
Frequently Asked Questions
What counts as a working day?
By default, working days are Monday to Friday. Saturdays, Sundays, and any holidays you add are excluded. You can change which days count in the work week and holidays panel.
Does the count include the start and end date?
Yes. When counting working days between two dates, both the start and end date are included if they fall on a working day.
How do I add working days to find a deadline?
Switch to add or subtract, enter a start date, and type the number of working days. Counting begins the day after your start date.
Are public holidays included automatically?
No. Holidays vary by country and region, so you add the ones that apply to you. Any holiday that falls on a working day is removed from the total.
Can I calculate a six-day work week?
Yes. Turn Saturday on in the work week panel and it will be counted as a working day. You can switch any day of the week on or off.
Is my data saved anywhere?
No. The calculator runs entirely in your browser. Your dates and holidays never leave your device and nothing is stored after you close the page.
